What is an LED billboard?
An LED billboard is a large outdoor display screen made up of LED dot matrix modules or pixel units. It integrates modern technologies like microelectronics, optics, computers, and information processing. With high brightness, vivid colors, energy efficiency, and long lifespan, LED billboards have become widely used in outdoor advertising. They offer dynamic image and text displays with high contrast and excellent visibility from long distances.
How Do LED Billboards Work?
An LED billboard consists of several key components:
LED Display Module: The core part of the LED cabinet, made up of LED lamp beads and driver ICs to control brightness and color.
Power Box: Converts input power to the required voltage for the LED display.
Control Card: Receives signals from a computer and translates them into commands compatible with the LED display module.
Cables: Includes power cables (providing electricity) and signal cables (transmitting control signals and data).
Cooling System: Large LED screens use cooling systems, such as fans, to dissipate heat and ensure stable operation.
An LED billboard is assembled by connecting multiple LED cabinets to create a large, high-quality digital display for advertising purposes.
