- LED brightness, power, and error detection
- Real-time display control
It is widely used in LED video walls for advertising, rental events, broadcasting, control rooms, and stadiums.
You need the following to use NovaLCT:
- A Windows PC
- NovaLCT installation package
- Antivirus software disabled (recommended during installation)
1.1 How to Download NovaLCT Software
To install NovaLCT:
Visit the official Novastar download page.
Download the latest NovaLCT version.
Complete installation including drivers.
When Windows Firewall prompts, allow access.
2. Graphics Card Settings
Before configuring your LED display, your Windows graphics card must be set correctly.
2.1 Choose Display Mode
When connecting your LED screen:
Duplicate Mode (recommended)
Shows desktop icons and helps confirm screen connection.
Extended Mode
Shows desktop background only.
Selecting Duplicate Mode ensures easier troubleshooting.
2.2 Adjust Display Settings
Right-click desktop → Display Settings
Set:
Scale & layout: 100%
No image stretching
Output resolution must match LED screen resolution
This ensures the LED screen displays pixel-by-pixel accuracy.
3. Sending Card Settings
3.1 Basic Login Steps
Open NovaLCT → Click User → Choose:
Advanced Synchronous System User Login
Password: admin
Then click Screen Configuration.
If only one sending card is connected, you do not need to manually select a communication port.
3.2 Video Source, Resolution, Refresh Rate
Select:
Video source (HDMI / DVI)
Correct resolution
Matching refresh rate
Important:
The resolution and refresh rate must match both:
Graphics card output
Sending card settings
Click Set, then Refresh, then Save.
4. Receiving Card Configuration
4.1 Using RCFG File (Recommended)
If your LED display supplier provides an RCFG configuration file, simply:
Click Load from File
Send parameters to all receiving cards
Save configuration
This is the fastest and most accurate method.
Sending options include:
Send to all receiving cards
Send to a specific receiving card
Reset starting coordinate
4.2 When You Don’t Have RCFG Files
If your LED display is already showing normal images, data is stored inside receiving cards.
You can:
Use Read Back
Save the extracted RCFG file
Apply it to new receiving cards later
This is effective for screen maintenance and card replacement.
5. LED Screen Connection
After sending card and receiving card configuration, your LED screen will still show only part of the desktop. You must complete the screen wiring configuration.
5.1 Basic Steps
Select the number of LED screens (usually one)
Enter the number of receiving cards in rows and columns
Select sending card
Enter receiving card size
Make the connection manually or use Quick Connection
Send data to hardware and save
You can also save the configuration file for future use.
5.2 Enable Mapping
This function helps visualize the wiring order of receiving cards.
Useful when:
Technicians are unsure about cabinet order
Rental LED screens are on site and need fast mapping
"P" indicates the output port number, and "#number" indicates receiving card order.
(Some receiving cards do not support this feature.)
5.3 Detect Communication Status
This tool helps identify faulty modules, bad cables, or disconnected cabinets.
Green: communication normal
Red: connection issue
Useful for on-site troubleshooting.
